Indeed Human Resources Scam Calls - How to Protect Yourself
Indeed Human Resources Scam Calls - How to Protect Yourself

If you received a call from someone claiming to be from "Indeed Human Resources," it is 100% a scam. According to the official Indeed Security Guidelines, Indeed will never call or text you directly to offer you a job. They do not have an internal hiring team that cold-calls job seekers.

How the Scam Works

  • The Robo-Call: You receive a brief automated message saying, "I'm from Indeed human resources wanting to discuss a role with you."
  • The Bait: The recording or automated voice instructs you to add their number to WhatsApp or Telegram to learn more.
  • The Trap: Once you message them on WhatsApp, they try to steal your personal data, trick you into fake "remote tasks," or demand payment for training/equipment.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • Moving off-platform: Real employers on Indeed will message you via the Indeed dashboard, not try to rush you onto WhatsApp.
  • Urgency: They create artificial deadlines to panic you into acting quickly.
  • Vague job descriptions: They offer generic, high-paying remote roles without reviewing your skills.

What You Should Do Next

  • Do not add them: Do not save or message the number on WhatsApp.
  • Hang up and block: Block the number immediately on your phone.
  • Report the fraud: You can flag suspicious activity directly through the Indeed Help Center.
