The email message below with the subject "Your Apple ID, was just used to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store," that appears as if it came from Apple Security Department, is a phishing scam designed to steal your Apple User ID, password, credit card and other information. This fake and malicious email message was not sent by Apple.

Dear Apple Customer,
Your Apple ID, was just used to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
This download was initiated from Spain.
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not initiate this download, you have to confirm your account and validate your informations, so we recommend you to :
1- Download the attached document and open it in a secure browser.
2- Follow the verification process to protect your account.

This email message claims that the recipients Apple IDs were used to download OSX Mavericks from Mac App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with their Apple ID. But, this is not true.
It then attempts to trick the recipients into opening the malicious attached HTML form, completing and submitting their information, which includes their Apple User ID, password and credit card information, by claiming that it is part of the verification process to protect their accounts.
But, this malicious HTML form will send the recipient’s Apple User ID, password, credit card information and other information entered on the form to the scammers behind this phishing scam.
If you were tricked into sending your personal and financial information, please change your Apple account password immediately and contact your bank and let them know that scammers have gotten hold of your credit card information.
