Is MPRG Law a Scam at mprglaw.com or Legit Firm in Canada?

I want to know if MPRG Law Firm located at mprglaw.com is a legit law firm or a scam. Their website address or domain name was registered for the first time only 8 days ago and their physical address is similar to this website: www.mbipa.ca. With so many fake Canadian law firms popping up, it is hard to know who to trust.

I got this and I fell for it and filled out the form what makes me believe it was sending me pictures of my passport and a lot of official documents and names that matched the search online so I sent a copy of my ID after filing the form. What should I do now?

I fully believe this is a scam. It truly is a shame that whoever created this would put effort in to create internet backup to support this. After pulling up the website (which as said above was recently created) and seeing that the verbiage is fairly common, but does not name attorneys--I then checked out the "attorney" in the letter/fax by searching for his name with the Canadian Bar Association. This is something that can't be faked. Of course, the search results came up empty.

Knew it was a scam but just for grins googled the "law firm".
The picture next to the map for address is an alley and dumpster!
Love it...a truth is revealed.

It is a total scam. It is so sad and I hope no one fell or falls for it. Pathetic that they would rather steal from others than go out and get a job.

Same amount here. $13,030,000 paid out in a death benefit because someone happened to have the same last name and nationality as myself. Well the thing is my Hindu last name is not a reflection of my nationality. So that’s reg flag number 1. Number 2 is this thread.

Same for me: Faxed letter, $13,030,000, deceased family member - blah, blah, blah. Scam.

Ditto. Same scam. Same amount $13,030,000.00. "The transaction pertains to an unclaimed "Payable On Death" ("POD") savings monetary deposit . . . with a Reputable Bank. The policy holder was one of our clients, Mr. Alan [[fill in your last name]], who worked with Energy Company in Canada. He died in an accident in Toronto Canada over nine years ago. Since His death no one has come forward for the claim and all our efforts to locate His relatives have proved unsuccessful."

"Therefore, I ask for your consent to be in partnership with me for the the claim of this policy benefit, in view of the fact that you share the last name and nationality with the deceased."

Of course it's all 100% risk free and I'm sure all I need to do is give them power of attorney over one of my checking accounts so they can legally "share" the proceeds if I first buy a bond held in trust for MPRG or Scott Gray . . . just to make sure the funds are safe in the account.

This is definitely SCAM! We just received almost exact fax dated July 08, 2023 from a Scott Gray JD at MPRG Law. The letter is also a request for partnership regarding claim for personal property of $13,030,000 from a deceased man, also named "Mr. Alan" but now with the last name of "Marder" which is related to our business' name. Watch out!

It's 100,000% a scam. A real law firm doesn't blast out a fax to hundreds/thousands of random fax numbers saying "let's commit crimes together" by claiming to be relatives of some made-up rich person.

Received a letter today from attorney Scott Gray of MPRGlaw.com. Confirmed that there is an attorney of this name in Manitoba. The letter seems to have Gray's correct address, but a different phone number and email. The fax number is reported as a scam number. The phone number is not for Gray's office. A call to Gray's office using the number on the Manitoba Bar website gives a message that the letter is a scam and to disregard it. Note that the MPRGlaw.com website does not have any of the firm attorneys listed which is also a red flag.

I also received a letter, same amount, $13,030,000. Stating they want me to help them claim personal property because I share the same last name with the deceased. I think it's probably a scam to try to get you to give them your full details like name, bank account numbers, and routing number under the guise of saying they will deposit money into your account, when in actuality they will draw from it and clean you out. I can't be certain, but that's my guess.

I think it is either that or they are a legit law firm doing some shady stuff claiming money that they aren't entitled to and using others as scapegoats...

why would they send a letter to my employer instead of my private residence? And why wouldn't they just call me if it was so urgent?
