The settlement benefits for consumers in the case Federal Trade Commission v. Amazon.com, Inc. (Case No. 2:23-cv-0932-JHC) stem from a historic $2.5 billion settlement reached with the FTC. The lawsuit accused Amazon of using deceptive "dark patterns" to enroll users into Prime without explicit consent and making the cancellation process intentionally difficult.
