ATT Refund Scam - Overcharge Or Surcharged Phone Bill

The "AT&T Refund" scam texts below, which claim recipients were overcharged and they should click the links in the fake texts to be reimbursed or compensated, are being sent by scammers. Therefore, recipients of the "AT&T Refund" scam texts are asked not to click the links in them because they go to phishing or fake websites.

AT&T Free Msg: John, we accidentally surcharged your phone bill last month. Kindly your compensation here:

WE OWE YOU $794.28. A new ruling caused us to overcharge you last year. Your insurance refund is ready. Please claim it within 24 HRS: 5enf .info/RgDylcg2X7

The links in the scam texts go to fake or phishing AT&T websites that steal account credentials, personal and finanical information. Therefore, if you have already been tricked by text scams, please contact AT&T for help.

I have recieved these text everyday at 3 am I block them and they text with a different number . This one came from 1 (949) 591-2021

I am so sick & tired of getting this c**p...I block numbers everyday at least at&t call protect is catching a lot of these scam calls...But doesn't help with the text messages...I manually block those numbers daily myself.

I got a text message that seems like spam. Then I saw this article with the same message, even the same exact $ amount. "Final reminder: your ATT refund of $391.03 is still registered in our system as pending." It came from 16574640589.
