Scammers are actively targeting Apple Pay users with phishing texts claiming "unverified" charges. The scam creates panic an authorization charges and suspension to steal your Apple ID credentials, banking information, or verification codes. Never call the numbers provided in such messages; instead, verify activity via the official Apple Wallet app.
The scam asks recipients to call telephone number 1-833-678-6002, which is not a Apple Support telephone number. The number is instead linked to a call center linked to scammers pretending to be Apple Support representatives.
If you shared credentials or lost money, immediately change your Apple ID password, report the transaction in the Wallet app, call your bank, and report the scam to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
