I was also been sent an email like this but I got smarter and dismissed the offer after I was told to send money.

    These guys are nuts.

But they managed to get my personal info but not bank related ones.

What could them use my info for?

    Am a bit unrest.

    Thanks though

They will use your personal information to attempt to trick you into sending money or more information.

They may also sell it to other scammers who will attempt to do the same.

I got this exact email. Wish I had researched before sending any funds. Once the shipping option is agreed upon then you receive further notice that the delivery can not be made until a Tax is paid because of the amount of the check.

Thank you Google. Wish I would have checked here first

I got a similar email and naturally followed through all the steps but stopped when I had reached payment option.

I started checking online reviews and also called up the number given, however I stopped myself short of making a conversation with the person on the other end.

All the time I had been keeping my fingers crossed hoping that this was a genuine thing, at the same time knew at the back of my mind that this was something fishy.

    We are always learning, right?

Wish I had been wiser sooner. Always learning. Education is'nt always free.
