Scammers are contacting their potential victims via text messages and asking them to call fake Chase telephone numbers. Below are samples of the fake Chase text messages being sent by the scammers or cybercriminals. Recipients of the fake text messages are asked not to follow the instructions in them.

The "A Hold Has Been Placed On Your Chase Debit Card" Scam

  • Caller texted me from 717-325-3778. "Msg: A hold has been placed on your Chase debit card. Please call 1-866-264-3578 to verify your account."
  • Just got a text from this number: "Free Msg: Chase Fraud: A hold has been placed on your Chase debit card, please call 1800-462-1894 to authenticate your .
