an anonymous userhttps://www.onlinethreatalerts.com/users/#an-anonymous-userAug 14, 2020 by root@smtp2.rapidns.com Spam Emails: Bewarean anonymous user from: Loughborough, England, United KingdomI received one email yesterday from TV License-Services (root-smpt2.rapidns.com) to tell me that they had not been able to collect my latest Direct Debit. No details of licence number. Guessed it was a scam as bank account showed DD referred to had gone out fine.Today I received a second email from root-smpt2.rapidns.com (this time using the official TVLicensing logo, saying it was from TVLicensing UK), saying that my Direct Debit had been cancelled and I had to follow the link to set up a new DD. This email gave a Licence Number and Expiry Date (both incorrect.) The ‘Message ID’ gave the same reference number as yesterday’s email. Scam!

AFTER I had given my details I spoke to my daughter who advised me to check again as I never have an issue usually. To my horror this was from root-smpt2.rapidns.com so I have now had to cancel my card and inform fraud department of this. Please don't be like me! check twice before given your details away.
