My mum has received 2 emails from this person. I have traced the originating IP address to 66.7.149.168, which is in the location of 55 E North Lane, Conshocken, Pennnsylvania. If I knew who to pass this info to, I would.
one of the best spam emails i've received from TV License. mMy only clue this was spam was the email address (root-smtp2.rapidns.com) and I know that my license is paid annual not month.
me too- TV licence direct debit cancelled. Glad I spotted the email address is dodgy
Just had one of these stating my direct debit for my TV licence had been cancelled so I checked my bank and all is fine, quite worrying really as other people might panic and fall for it
I have had 3 of these emails so far and put them in my spam folder.
I have received several of these emails saying they are from TV Licensing. As with all other comments I have checked with bank and there isn't a problem but its a worry.
Still on the go. Received message stating direct debit had been cancelled.
E-mail still doing the rounds. We just received the e-mail saying our DD had been cancelled
Same here todayAspa
I got an email from the mentioned email address claiming my TV License is going to expire 2nd Sept and that I should make a payment immediately, Oddly enough a payment is due, But I pay with a payment card every 2 weeks not direct debit.
I received the same email an hour ago, I checked my bank account and it has gone out today. I then checked the email address and have now permanently blocked all future email. It is scary, how the heck did they get my information.
I have also just received this email from root-smtp2.rapidns.comThey claimed my DD had been cancelled, therefore I need to go ahead a send new bank details to renew it. I checked with the my bank and also TV licensing.... My DD had not be cancelled and my TV licence was absolutely fine and up to date.
TV licence scam, apparently my license was cancelled because of direct debit problem. Scam. Email header revealed root-smtp2.rapidns.comDo not comply with these criminals.
I've just got one today saying the same!!!!
I also received an e-mail regarding direct debit TV Licence cancellation. Mine started with Dear Customer and continued with the line Your direct debit has been cancelled and the asked for my Bank Details. I quickly became suspicious because I do not have a direct debit account for TV
I too received an email related too direct debit having been cancelled for t.v licence, unable to collect payment and your not covered etc. Including an incorrect account number and expiry date. I knew it was Spam straight away as it was addressed to "Dear Customer" not me personally. Very cleverly done and I'm not surprised to hear people have been caught out. Google came in handy all the same to confirm my suspicions.
I got one too supposedly from tv license but the only difference was it was addressed to me with my name on, knew it was spam as I do t have a tv or a license,
Just had an email from root-smtp2.rapidns.comSaying my Tv Licence direct debit failed and will cancel tomorrow,Looked official too, really convincing Scam
HI I just had an email but it used my email address not dear customer. It also had all the links to a real page for changing bank address ect but upon calling them no one answered for checking direct debits but answered the check bank details so beware. The only thing that really gave it away was the sender address tv licence send theirs with a do not reply address.
Scamming, told them to f**k off and they have been reported
Had one yesterday and another today, knew it was a scam straight away because I don't pay by direct debit. The licence number and customer number were wrong also the TV licence office don't start emails with "dear client" I've warned friends and family because this did look more convincing than others I've received.
Yes it’s a scam. A bona fide email from TV Licensing includes the last part of your postcode (so that you know it IS from TV Licensing). They show your license number (different to the one in fake emails), the correct expiry date AND shows your surname as it appears on the License.
Hi,Also just received a TV Licence scam email, Please be careful out there! I have forwarded it to the government phishing address using the official link.
TV license scam please beware
They tried to scum me as well
Received 2 emails today saying my TV Licence is about to expire. (Which it isn't as its due in January.)
Received email today from root-smtp2.rapidns.com. The same scam: "Tomorrow is your last chance to remain licensed. You won't be covered if you let your licence expire. As we couldn't take the latest payment from your bank account, this amount will also need to be paid when you set up your new Direct Debit". But I know that I paid in march for the whole year, so it shouldn't be any problem. Then I googled it...
Tv licensing emails received fromThis address. Yes looks very authentic. They even have a link to the gov.uk scam site!!!! Again, glad I googled
Thanks for the information - will pass it on to all and sundry. I work with the elderly and they would fall for this it looks very official
2 emails in 1 day re TV licence - 3 emails since last week
Curse this scammer the whole family Hum Ka Chang
Me too. Says my TV licence will expire tomorrow. Looks legitimate. So glad I Googled it.
Just had email (root-smtp2.rapidns.com,) saying TV Licence had been suspended smelt a big rat please persecute these people.
Got one too... looks very legitimate I’m glad I googled it!!
Same here. TV licence DD failed. Almost fell for this one as very convincing. Be aware!!
I have just had the same email, deleted it
I received one email yesterday from TV License-Services (root-smpt2.rapidns.com) to tell me that they had not been able to collect my latest Direct Debit. No details of licence number. Guessed it was a scam as bank account showed DD referred to had gone out fine.Today I received a second email from root-smpt2.rapidns.com (this time using the official TVLicensing logo, saying it was from TVLicensing UK), saying that my Direct Debit had been cancelled and I had to follow the link to set up a new DD. This email gave a Licence Number and Expiry Date (both incorrect.) The ‘Message ID’ gave the same reference number as yesterday’s email. Scam!
3 emails from these people today. Looks plausible until everything is down the right-hand side of the page !!
I received an email from TV licencing today informing me that my direct debit payment had failed and I would need to update with card details. AFTER I had given my details I spoke to my daughter who advised me to check again as I never have an issue usually. To my horror this was from root-smpt2.rapidns.com so I have now had to cancel my card and inform fraud department of this. Please don't be like me! check twice before given your details away.
Yes I too, received email with regard to my TV licence
Got message from this email address saying TV Licence Direct Debit has been cancelled.. I dont have a TV Licence..

Me too I feel so stupid ! Have u had any problems since ?
Same. TV licensing scam. So many of these around at the moment. Getting lots of amazon and PayPal scams too.
Received an email asking to set up direct debit again via their link. Luckily we noticed the email address which confirmed it's a scam.
