IT IS A SCAM

I just got similar msg. Thank you for posting it's a scam.

866 497 4781 is a total scam. The number does not even belong to BOA. Call your bank if you use BOA and report this phone number.

I received the following text from 22395 on 8/28/23 - 10:26 am pst.

"Use code 300098 to approve your wire transaction of $ 3238.77 to Linda from your account, if not you call BOA helpline at 8664974781"

I immediately searched the phone # to see if it belongs to BofA & saw these scam posts.

I do have a credit account with this bank, but not a bank account.

It is getting ridiculous with people always trying to s***w others. We are all struggling to make ends meet...but have some integrity and do it honestly!

They used short code 22395 which in my message history has several legitimate verifications from places such as principal financial, coin base, airbnb, etc... so it makes the scam seem even more legit if you hold onto old messages. I received this one a few moments ago:

I just received a similar text from 22395:

"Use code 587638 to approve your wire transaction of $ 3291.13 to Linda from your account, if not you call BOA helpline at 8664974781"

I do NOT have a Bank of America account. Looks very suspicious and I am NOT going to call this number!!!!

I checked BOA number from back of the card and it doesn't match. DON'T call this number.

I received the same fraud text today 8/28 at 12pm CT.

Received 8/28 to Linda. People are sick.
