Elon Musk Mega Millions Jackpot Scam Emails - Beware

There is NO "Elon Musk Mega Millions Jackpot" and the CEO of Tesla is not randomly donating money or a Tesla Model X to people whose email addresses were selected in some so-called spin ball. Therefore, if you have received emails like the one, claiming you are a lucky recipient, do not follow the instructions in them, just delete them. This is another scam being used by lottery scammers to trick their potential victims into sending them money.

How the Scam Works

  • The "Advance Fee" Demand: To "release" your donation, they demand upfront payments for "taxes," "customs duties," or "legal fees".
  • The Fake Check: In some versions, they send a realistic-looking (but fraudulent) check, asking you to deposit it and wire back a portion for administrative costs.
  • The Data Theft: They may also ask for your bank details or copies of official documents (like your passport) to "verify your identity," which they then use for identity theft.
