The fake email message was sent by cyber-criminals to trick the recipients (Santander UK customers) into clicking on one of the links within it. The malicious links go to a fake Santander UK website created by cyber-criminals to steal their potential victims’ banking user name and password, or credentials. Santander UK is United Kingdom bank, wholly owned by the Spanish Santander Group.
