  4. The Financial Trap: They will send you a fake check to "buy home office equipment". They instruct you to deposit it, wire a portion of the cash back to their "vendor," and then the original check bounces, leaving you liable to your bank for thousands. Alternatively, they may demand an upfront payment for training materials.
  5. Identity Theft: They demand your Social Security Number, bank routing information, or copies of your driver's license under the guise of "payroll onboarding" before any real formal background screening takes place.
