Scammers are sending random area code 852 scam Whatsapp messages from +63 telephone numbers claiming they want to visit potential victims. The scammers will claim they are Japanese girls living in Hong Kong and ask what city their potential victims are from. The scammers will claim they have a business trip to the same city their potential victims are from at the end of the year and want to meet them for coffee.
The scammers will then offer their so-called work number(a +852 area code telephone number) to their potential victims and asked to be added.

Pretending to be from "Houng" Kong. Sends message in very nice English. Very good conversational skill. Sent one meeting picture, pretending that she is attending a meeting. The picture she shared is Internet / IG picture shared by 10s of people on Instagram.

I also received short messages at various times with different Hong Kong phone numbers and the same person used Indonesian phone number and lately used this phone number 852 502 44 0484. Always sending message to me but as though to different persons with different names or twisted messages. Swrote ote that she's half Japanese and half Chinese young lady living and working in Hong Kong, owns a fashion clothes making.

Received msg from 85235757501 on WhatsApp containing a verification code. Anyone know what it could be?
I believe it originated from Instagram. I provided my WhatsApp number to receive a 6-digit code for password reset. Subsequently, the code was dispatched to my WhatsApp from the number 85235757501.In essence, if someone enters your WhatsApp number and requests the code through Instagram, they will transmit it to your WhatsApp via the 85235757501 number.

Sheesh took way too much searching to find this thread.This was the number 852 6316 5505I was dm'd through Instagram by a quite convincing account-photos were consistent & dated back over a year. Reverse image search returned nothing.Complimented my photography & said her name was Annie & lived in NYC. After a short convo asked to move to whatsapp, which is when I began really googling.Didnt get as far as investments or crypto, would've been funny tho bc I have no interest in those & got no money anyway

Mine came from IG added me through WhatsApp 852 5177 9787.
Got a message from 852 5146 3698 that just says "Hello, long time no see" and WhatsApp says it is a business account. Went online to check the area code in case it actually was someone I met a few years ago and found this, so thank you. :)
