Scammers are using robocalls like the one below to contact potential victims, by claiming recent purchases from kotashop.com with their credit cards need to be verified. They are asked to call 1-866-357-1076, which is a telephone number being used by the scammers who are probably operating a call center impersonating bank customer service representatives.

You made a purchase for $120.40 at Kotashop.com, which was declined for your account's protection. We have temporarily blocked your card for further verification. Please call us back on our tollfree number 1866-357-1076. Thank you.

If you receive a call asking you to call 1 866 357 1076, please do not, just ignore the call and contact your bank using the telephone number at the back of your card.

    just received this voicemail (virtual): "Protection this is your Citibank credit card loss prevention center with an important message we need to verify some recent activity on your Citibank credit card you made a purchase of $120.40 at Kota shop.com which was declined for your accounts protection we have temporary Lee blocked your card for further verifications please call us back on our toll-free number 1-800-981-5932 thank you…”
