How the Scam Works

• Fake Search Results: Scammers flood Google and other search engines with fake product listings. When you search for an item, these misleading links may appear near the top of the results.
• The Copycat Site: Clicking the link takes you to walmart.goxox.com, which acts as an exact replica of the genuine site, often featuring heavily discounted, "too good to be true" prices.
• Data & Money Theft: If you attempt to purchase something or log in, the scammers steal your credit card details, passwords, and personal information.

How to Protect Yourself

• Check the URL: The only genuine address for Walmart is https://www.walmart.com/. Always look closely at the browser address bar before typing any sensitive information.
• Avoid Unbelievable Deals: If an item is sold out everywhere else or listed at a fraction of its normal price on an unfamiliar URL, it is likely a trap.
