Scamming - Fraud
If you receive telephone calls, and the callers identify themselves as Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents, and claim that you owe taxes and demand payment via wire transfer, credit/prepaid debit card, or threaten legal action, please terminate the calls. This is a scam, and thousands of taxpayers are being targeted by scammers, who threaten them with arrest or deportation. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will NOT demand payment by credit, pre-paid debit card or wire transfer, and they will always contact you via standard postal mail first, and not by telephone.
This is the phone call message that I received from these scammers:
“This call is for you! This is the IRS and we are going to prosecute you!” “My name is ***”.
The scammers will then give you the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN). They will then ask you to enter your credit or debit card information in order to stop them from prosecuting you. If you give out your information over the phone, these scammers will use the information to steal your identity and money.

Never give your credit information over the telephone to someone who calls you. And, if you receive a call from someone claiming to represent a company or institution, tell the person to call back, hang up, and search for the telephone number for that company or institution and call to verify what you were told.

I have received a bogus internal with revenue service phone calls. It came from New York City.
Received call from 615-510-3332 stating they were Revenue Officer Sam Anderson and that they would pursue liens/levy/garnishments on me. This person said they were from the Nashville TN office at 801 Broad St. Is this a scam?
Yes, it is a scam.
I'm not sure but I just received a call from a number 4089849018 from California, saying they have a law suit against me and a warrant for my arrest. But, when I called back they claimed the number cannot be reached because it no longer in service and I made the call back in seconds from receiving it ..from Massachusetts.
Received via email: "Received 2 threatening calls from the " IRS" the number they gave me was 607 794 8330"
Similar that I've experience with this phone # 213-453-5288. The guy that I've spoken, sound like a middle Easterner, but according to him, his name is Sam Anderson.
Received recorded calls on my cell, telling me there is criminal action being taken against me from the IRS legal department. Number is 202 734 5871.
Today I received a phone call from 202-241-4459. It was a recorded message stating he is Officer Danny Watson from the Social Security Administration and he received notification to blacklist my social security number. When I tried to call the phone number there was a message stating I had reached the IRS and the persons voicemail box could not accept any more messages.
