Scamming - Fraud
The email message below: "HSBC Safeguard - Important Notice," is a fake and phishing email message sent by cyber-criminals to trick the recipients into clicking on a phishing link within it. The link in the fake email message goes to a fake HSBC website created by cyber-criminals, to steal their potential victims' information, by tricking them into signing in with their user name and password, and submitting their personal and financial information. Once the cyber-criminals have received their victims' information, they will use the same information to hijack their accounts and steal their money.
Victims of the phishing scam are asked to contact HSBC Bank immediately. And, HSBC customers are advised not to click on links in email messages to sign into their accounts. They should instead, go direct to HSBC's website and sign in from there. If there is something that they need to do with their accounts, they will be notified.

I have received a letter from HSBC safeguard to make an appointment to update my banking details. I am reluctant to disclose any details unless this is authentic is there any way I can verify this letter.
