A few persons have told me that they have received Social Security scam telephone calls from a 209 area code. Please see the comments below. Been getting calls from various numbers from (209) 406-xxxx for months. I have blocked so many numbers and I get new ones every day. Sometimes I get three per day. There has to be a way to stop this. This is ridiculous.
Is 209-387-5830 a scam?
I get 209 calls throughout the day at the rate of three per hour. Tracy, CA, Merced, CA, Yosemite National Park.

Just received this call telling me there has been criminal activity with my ss #foreign accent on the caller, just another scam
That has happened to me a few times. They even told me I needed to go get 2 $100 WU money orders at any 7-11 store and then 2 private investigators would be coming by my place to retrieve them...saying they would just be used to try and 'catch the real perpetrator/s'! HA!! Just how stupid do these scam artists think people are anyway? Just thought I'd share..u likely laughed also. Take care.

I got this area code 209 scam: "If not heard from in 48 hours will charge $399.00 to my credit card." Claim they are from Norton Anti-Virus.
Beware of 209-431-0786 SSN scam... Received non stop calls.
I have received 2 text messages from area code 209-306-3290, one at 7:53 pm Tuesday February 4th and another on Wednesday February 5th and 6:46 am
They have called me about 15 times today.
I have gotten a text from 209 273 1965.. it states tranger and let me know if you have any questions. I have deleted it.
I received about a dozen SSN spam calls on Friday, November 8, 2019. It's the same 20-second computer-voice message, each from a different phone number in the 209 area code. After receiving none on Saturday or Sunday (I guess even robocallers want to enjoy their weekends), they started back up on Monday morning. I just set my phone to silent ring, except for numbers in my contacts list.
I've been getting incessantly calls from these numbers in last 3 days: 209-763-1651209-555-4145209-324-7135209-150-6570209-905-3118209-011-5071
One? How about 10 calls just this morning from 10 different numbers starting with 209. Two were ss fraud calls (losing ss, arrest warrant, etc.) Others... no message at all.
Beware of calls from telephone number 209-437-5206. This is because the number is being used by lottery scammers.
