Free Bank of America Text from 205-350-4221 and 205-350-4223

Received the text below, which claims to be from BOA Check asking me to call 205-350-4221 and 205-350-4223. But, I did not bite on it. Mainly, because I don’t have anything to do with Bank Of America.

I called the number. It asked for my debit card number. After I gave it an erroneous number, it asked for my PIN. I wonder how many people might fall for this. Couldn't there be some way to track these people down by the phone numbers they use?
