I got a voicemail from telephone number 01147001598 where the caller with an American female voice stated it is the HMRC and it was serious. The voicemail further stated that if I didn't call 0114-700-1598 I must get a solicitor and then claimed I have been warned. I reported the scam call to phishing@hmrc.gov.uk. A few hours after, I received another voicemail from the same number, which claims I need to ring them back in order to avoid legal actions taken against me and I should contact Richard Grey.
If you get these voicemails or calls, please do not panic and call the scammers back. They will attempt to steal your personal and financial information and use it to rip you off. Just disconnect the call and block the number.
