busfile.org scam to Business Owners

We have recently been made aware of business owners receiving mailings entitled “PENNSYLANIA ANNUAL REPORT”. These letters are being sent from a company calling itself “New Business Filing LLC”. The form instructs Pennsylvania businesses: “To avoid administrative dissolution or revocation in the future, file your 2025 Annual Report online at Busfile.org/2025” or “scan the QR code … to file”. This is a SCAM. Do NOT navigate to this URL nor scan the QR code.

Indeed most PA businesses MUST file the PA Annual Report beginning in 2025 as we have previously written about. However, THIS mailing is from a fictitious organization and is NOT associated with the Annual Report in any way.

SMPD has become aware of a new mail scam circulating the area. Busfile.org/WI2025 is sending fraudulent mailings, that targeting individuals and businesses, attempting to scare citizens into providing sensitive information or paying unnecessary fees.

Busfile.org is NOT affiliated with the State of Wisconsin or any other government agency. Busfile.org has been flagged for deceptive practices and potential phishing attempts.

If you receive such a mailing, discard it. DO NOT visit the website or enter any information.

If in doubt, always verify business filing requests through the official Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions at wdfi.org.
