The email message below: "Alert: Confirm Your Amazon Account," which claims that Amazon was unable to validate the recipients' account details, so their accounts have been placed on hold pending additional verification, is a phishing scam and was not sent by Amazon. The email message was designed to steal Amazon users' login credentials, personal and credit card information.

We were unable to validate important details about your Amazon account. Your account has been placed on hold pending additional verification. You will not be able to log in to your Amazon.com. If you do not respond within 2 days of this email (by July 16, 2015), your account will be suspended and you will no longer be able to access amazon services

To avoid suspension , Click the link below and follow the instructions.

This phishing email goes to a fake Amazon website that will ask you for your personal, credit card, and other sensitive information.

If you enter the information on the form, it will be sent to the scammers behind this phishing scam.

Amazon will never ask you to confirm that you are the holder of an account by asking you to confirm your personal and credit card information.

Also, in email messages, Amazon will address you by your name.

If you were tricked into sending the cybercriminals your Amazon user ID, password, personal and credit card information, please change your Amazon password, and contact them and your bank immediately.
