"Verizon Text Message Suspension Notice" Phishing Scams

I got a text today saying my service would be suspended in one hour. Phone number to call was 1-800-844-8292.

Have there been any incidents with automated phone calls?

received from (989) 217-8558 "Cancellation_Notice
Fraudulent Verizon account usage. Avoid service suspension and follow the requested verification steps on"

not including the link received.

Forwarded the message and number to Verizon at 7726

I received VZW scam iMessage from number (515) 493-0990.
Verizon, can you do something about those scammers? Can you track who those numbers belong to and prosecute them?

Received a text message from 808-797-2670.
Message said, "VZW-Msg" Update your account details to avoid service cancellation. Tap https://verizon.requested-data .com for details."

received a suspicious message from (209)471-0669 with: VZW IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please review your paymet details prior verizon service interruption (verbatim message - poor grammar)...deleted message.

423-754-9269: just received a text from this number saying update my acct or it will be cancelled ... I don't even have verizon

Text messages from 402-450-9159 went out to many people I know on wednsaday 6/17/15 - 12:44 Est.

Received text from 402-450-3444 saying to update account registration to avoid service cancellation. web site http://bofh.us/Verizon285387 I did click the link but the data didn't appear truly Verizon so I deleted the text message.

I had this message but from (718) 757-9751.

Received text: "Verizon Suspension Notice* Update account registration details to avoid service cancellation. http://cor.to/Verizon631037 Verizon Customer Support May 25,2015." Sent from a phony phone #303-941-6472.

They say your credit card needs updating. They want your birthdate, social security number, mother's maiden name, and your credit card information after entering your id and password.

Must be a scam but it sure looks real. Be on the lookout!!

My daughter just received one of these phishing text messages, she wasn't sure what it was, so she sent me a screen shot of it.

This one said:
"Your Verizon account is locked. Take action now: www.verizonwireless.com-b2c-myverizonlp.etoranj.ir"

It looks like an almost legit website...the only problem is, her service was working fine at the time, so she called me, and also the domain extension "ir." is used for Iran!

I received a similar notice from (614) 949-4560 directing me http://4ri.org.org/verizon38484 to update my account registration details to avoid service cancellation.

Did not reply. Glad to find this information that supported my decision.

I received one of these texts today from the number 817-662-9226. I immediately reported this to verizon.

I got the same but from this number: 517-662-9226. I have received this from another number that I blocked about a month ago and will do the same to this one. Just a pain.

I received a "suspension notice" text from 702 600 6940 at 4:20 pm on 12/10. Which is a laugh: I am a prepaid customer.

I got a message from 503-991-2127. Please prosecute these scammers.

Keep getting messages from 517-898-6526. This is the second in 2 weeks.
