The fake email messages are being used by cyber-criminals to trick their potential victims into clicking on the link within them, which go to a fake or phishing website. Once on the phishing website, potential victims will be asked to sign-in with their email accounts’ username and password. But, once the potential victims attempt to sign into the fake website, their email accounts’ username and password will be sent to the cyber-criminals behind the scam, who will use the stolen credentials to gain access to the potential victims’ email accounts, and use the same accounts fraudulently.
