"Pepsi Advertisement Program" Car Wrap Scams

Pepsi Advertisement Program Car Wrap Scams

Scammers are sending out "Pepsi Advertisement Program" scams to thousands of persons via email messages, Craigslist, and other advertising media. The scams claim that vehicle owners with a driver's license can be paid a certain amount of money weekly via check (cheque) through a courier service to have their vehicle wrapped with a PepsiCo advertisement. But, the scammers behind this fraudulent scheme will send you fake checks, ask you to take your share of the money and wire the rest to a graphic designer. But, the checks are fakes and will bounce. The wired money will actually go to the scammers behind this fraudulent scheme. You will then be left to pay back the bank the wired amount and other charges associated with the processing of the check.

Whenever you receive offers that are too good to be true, please do your research before participating, even if the offers seem legitimate.

    Dear Karlee,

The Advertisement period for now is 3 months. If there's any course for extension, you would be notified. At the end of the program the advert decal would be removed at the company's expense and the cost of its removal will be included on the 1st week rental payment paycheck that would be mailed to you. Subsequent Rental Payment would be mailed to you on weekly basis. I am a freelance advertiser for PepsiCo based on contractual agreement.

I'm happy to inform you that you have been successfully entered into the program. An expert, who will meet you has been allocated to install the decals on your car. You will therefore receive your payment alongside the money that will be paid to the national car detailer (expert) in the mail. A bank check payment would be mailed to you to cover your first week rental payment and the Vinyl decals designer's expenses for installing. the decals on your vehicle and for its removal cost at the expiration of the advert program period (3 months). So, when you receive the payment, you will take out your first week pay of $500 and the rest of the funds from that same check should be transferred through Money Gram or Western Union Money Transfer to the decals expert that will wrap the decal on your vehicle. All you need is to confirm the acceptance and understanding of this email. This is to afford mutual relationship between you and the detailer.

In view of this, please confirm the following details:-

    (i) How long do you intend to carry the advertisement on your car?

One (1) month, two (2) months or three (3) months?

(ii) Do you use your car everyday?

(iii) Which of the stated Pepsi products vinyl decals would you want

    your car wrapped with: -

    (a) Pepsi

    (b) Pepsi Max

    (c) Pepsi Natural

    (d) Pepsi One

    (e) Pepsi Throwback

    (f) Pepsi Wild Cherry

    (g) Caffeine Free Pepsi

    (h) Diet Pepsi

    (i) Diet Pepsi Lime

    (j) Diet Pepsi Vanilla

    (k) Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry

    (l) Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi

    (v) Do you have an existing savings/checking account where you will deposit your check for letting our company use your vehicle?

(vi) Also reconfirm your name, address and phone number as it should be on the check, where your payment should be mailed.

Please note that your choice of product would also be a determining factor on the type of the Advert Vinyl Decal your car would be getting wrapped with. You are to be checking your email daily for updates and when your check will arrive in the mail. Again, Congratulations the Job is yours.

    Best Regards

    PepsiCo® Regional Advert Coordinator

2.Q: If/when the contract is terminated, who is responsible for the removal and cost of removal of the wrap?

A: Both the "Installation" and "Removal Uninstalling" cost of the Advert Vinyl Decals would be taken care of by the company.

    3. Q: Where do I go to have the Vinyl decal installed.

A: You do not need to go anywhere for the installation, a decal expert would be scheduled to come to your location for the installation."
