The link in the Venmo scam text message redirects visitors to spam, phishing, and malicious websites. The websites trick visitors into buying unwanted services, steal their personal and financial information, and infect their computers or mobile devices with malicious apps or malware.

Got this exact same text at 5:07am today from 541-527-6388. I did not call or click on link. What is disturbing is how did they know my first name? I don’t have a Venmo account and haven’t been applying for jobs. The only thing I have done different recently is yesterday I placed an order online for dinner at a local cafe.
