The scam text, which claims the recipients' card has been locked, is being used to either trick potential victims into clicking a link in it that goes to a phishing website, which steals account credentials, personal and financial information. Or, call a fake customer service number set up by the scammers. If contacted, the scammers will attempt to trick the callers into disclosing their account credentials and other sensitive information, which they will use fraudulently.
