The Citi Alerts text below, which asks recipients to call 820-200-2820, is a scam. The text is being sent by scammers who are attempting to trick their potential victims into calling them at the fake Citi Banking telephone number(8202002820) listed in the text message.

If potential victims contact the scammers at the fake Citi Banking telephone number(820-200-2820), the scammers will attempt to trick them into giving them their account credentials, personal and financial information. Once the scammers receive the their potential victims' information, they will use it fraudulently.
