Amazon iPhone Scam Call from 020886010707

Scammers are calling from telephone number 020886010707 pretending to be Amazon. The scammers claim their potential victims have been charged for an iPhone and ask them to disclose their personal information in order to verify their accounts. If you get a call about your Amazon account, do not provide any information over the phone. If you do have an account with Amazon then simply log in and check for yourself to confirm that everything is OK.

How do I know if a call was from Amazon?

If you receive a suspicious phone call claiming to be from Amazon, here are some things you can look out for:

  • Amazon will never ask for payment or offer you a refund you do not expect.
  • Amazon will never ask you to make a payment outside of their website (e.g. via bank transfer, e-mailing credit card details, sharing gift card details over the phone, etc.)
  • Amazon will never ask you for remote access to your device e.g. by asking you to install an app.
