McAfee warning pop-ups or emails claiming your computer is infected or your subscription has expired are almost always scams. These deceptive alerts mimic official branding to induce panic so you will click malicious links, call fraudulent numbers, or buy unnecessary software. If you did not intentionally open your officially installed McAfee software, ignore the warning completely.
Most fake pop-ups happen because a shady website tricked you into clicking "Allow Notifications". You can easily block them through your browser settings:
