The fake email notification message below: "You have one message Alert", is a phishing scam designed to trick the recipients into clicking the link within it. This link will take the recipients to a phishing or fake web page prompting them to sign-in order to remove the Trojan virus that the message claims has infected their computers.

This email message notification was not sent by BT Technical Information’s department and the web page that the link within it will take you to, is a fake and will steal your user name and password, if you enter it on this same page, by sending it to the scammers behind this phishing scam.

Never click on a link in an email message that asks you to sign into your account, especially if the email message greets you without your name, but instead uses the following:

  • Attention E-mail Account Holder
  • Dear,
  • Hello,
  • Dear client!

If you need to sign into your account, please go directly to the home of the web site that you need to sign into, by typing the address in your web browser or clicking a bookmark that you have created. From the home page, you can navigate to the sign in page.

If you have already clicked the link and entered your user name and password on this fake or phishing web page, please change your password right now!
