Today I received the fake PayPal text message from telephone number 44 7707 415708. The fake message claims that my PayPal account has been temporarily locked and need to be confirmed, or it will be closed. But, instead of following the instructions in the text, I just go to www.paypal.com and sign into my account from there. If there was something wrong with my account, PayPal would notify me after signing in.

PayPal users who have been tricked by the fake text message are asked to change their password, check their account for discrepancies, and report any to PayPal.
