The fake Facebook page tricks potential victims into liking, sharing, or commenting on it by claiming they have a chance to win a 10-night stay this summer at the beautiful Acorn Bank Lodge on Lake Windermere. If you have come across the page, please do not follow the instructions in it, just report it to Facebook as a scam.

Scams like these operate on a principle known as “like-farming.” The name of the like-farming game is "engagement" and the more engagement a post gets in the form of likes and shares, the more Facebook’s algorithm pushes it to newsfeeds. The more people who see such a post, the more likely they will engage with it.
