The "Annual Meta Subscription" invoice or renewal notice claiming you were charged hundreds of dollars and include a telephone number to call, is a phishing scam. How the Scam Works

  • The Fake Invoice: Scammers send realistic-looking emails detailing an automated, high-dollar charge for an "annual subscription" or "business verification renewal".
  • The Bait: They deliberately trigger panic so you react quickly and cancel the non-existent charge.
  • The "Support" Number: The invoice provides a toll-free number to "dispute charges". If called, the scammers will attempt to steal credit card data, verify active numbers, or trick you into downloading remote-access malware.
