Online scammers are sending the fake Omicron PCR Self Test Kit scam text below to potential victims with a link to pcr-self-test-kit.com or pcr-self-testkit.com. The aim of the PCR Self Test Kit text, which claims the recipients have been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive, is to frighten and trick them into clicking the link. The link goes to a phishing website that steals personal and financial information.

NHS: You've came into contact with someone who has tested positive for the Omircron Varient. Please order a Testing Kit: hxxps://pcr-self-test-kit.com

On the phishing website, visitors will be asked to purchase a testing kit and will be asked for personal and financial information in order to do so. But, if the requested information is submitted, it will be sent to the scammers behind the fake text, who will use it fraudulently.

If you have been tricked into submitting your financial information at hxxps://pcr-self-test-kit.com, please contact your bank for help.

    Had a text this morning from a number, the link provided in the text was similar but it missed the hyphen between test and kit (so it just read "testkit" in the link.
