I called NFCU, and they confirmed that the text number is changing to 21398.
It is a scam. NFCU posted the following message on their website:"We've received reports about fraudulent text messages circulating, claiming NFCU texts will originate from numbers like 21398 or 40554 starting Feb. 16th. Please be aware that these texts are NOT from us. If you receive a text regarding your Northern account that you weren’t expecting, don’t respond. Instead, contact us directly.Due to routine Spectrum network maintenance, the Carthage, Croghan, and Lowville Advanced ATMs will be unavailable, Tuesday, February 11 from 12:00am to 6:00am. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience."
I've received an exact same text message and think it's a scam, I found this thread searching the same.
