Scams & Fraud Types

  • Account Hacking: Criminals steal usernames and passwords (often via data breaches) to take over accounts and spend vouchers.
  • Phishing Emails/Texts: Fraudsters send emails appearing to be from Tesco, asking for personal information, passwords, or for you to click a link.
  • Voucher Misuse: Using fake or stolen vouchers at self-service checkouts, sometimes reducing costs to zero or finding loopholes to get cash back.
  • Fake Rewards/Deposits: Scammers send fake messages, sometimes via platforms like WhatsApp, pretending a friend or family member sent a reward.

Protect Your Clubcard

  • Never click links in emails or texts claiming to be from Tesco. Instead, go directly to Tesco.com.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for your Tesco account.
  • Report suspicious emails to phishing@tescobank.com.
  • Report fraudulent activity to Tesco Bank at 0345 366 1281.
  • Be aware of phishing scams that try to steal your personal details.
