Is US Standard Products a Scam or Legitimate Company?

Online users have reported that U.S. Standard Products uses deceptive tactics to target parts departments, maintenance crews, and small businesses. They also claim the company ship physical products, but they use highly aggressive and dishonest tactics to trick employees into accepting shipments before hitting the business with wildly inflated invoices.

Several Deceptive Practices

  • The "Free Gift" Bait: Sales representatives make unsolicited calls offering complimentary gifts (like hats, jerseys, or small quantities of towels) to "thank" workers or maintenance crews.
  • Exorbitant Invoicing: After acquiring a shipping address, the company sends massive quantities of heavily overpriced supplies (such as nitrile gloves or degreasers) alongside an invoice that often exceeds standard market prices by hundreds of percent.
  • Deceptive Billing: Invoices are sometimes strategically timed to arrive after the return window, or solicitations are designed to look exactly like standard purchase orders.

How to Handle Them

  • Do not engage: Immediately hang up on fast-talking callers and never confirm your name, address, or agree to accept "free" promotional gifts.
  • Reject shipments: If unsolicited products arrive at your workplace, refuse the delivery or mark it "Return to Sender".
  • File a report: Document your calls and invoices, and file complaints directly with the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission.
