Evri Scam Emails - How to Protect Yourself
Evri Scam Emails - How to Protect Yourself

If you receive an email or text claiming that a package cannot be delivered because of an incomplete address or an unpaid fee, it is a scam. Scammers send thousands of these "spray and pray" messages daily, hoping to trick people who happen to be waiting for an online order.

Common Signs of an Evri Scam

  • Requests for Payment: Evri will never ask you for money or a "redelivery fee" via text or email. They attempt delivery three times for free.
  • Vague Details: The message will lack real details like your name, what the parcel contains, or a valid tracking number.
  • Suspicious Links: Fake links often look similar to the real name but use slight misspellings or different web domains.
  • Urgent Tone: The email will threaten that your package will be returned to the sender within 12 to 24 hours if you do not act quickly.
  • Fake Sender Address: Real Evri emails only come from official addresses ending in @evri.com, @hermes-europe.co.uk, or @myhermes.co.uk.

What to Do Right Now

  • Do Not Click Links: Clicking links can download malicious software onto your device or steal your financial data.
  • Do Not Reply: Replying to text messages helps scammers verify that your phone number is active.
  • Track Separately: If you are expecting a package, go directly to the official Evri Tracking Page and manually type in your tracking number.

How to Report the Scam

  • Report via Email: Forward the fraudulent email directly to Evri's security team at phishing@evri.com.
  • Report via Text: If you received a text message, forward it for free to 7726 to report it to your mobile network provider.
  • UK Government Reporting: Forward malicious emails to the National Cyber Security Centre at report@phishing.gov.uk.

If You Already Entered Your Details?

If you entered your credit card or bank details on a suspicious link, contact your bank immediately. Tell them you have been a victim of a phishing scam so they can freeze your cards, protect your account, and stop any fraudulent transactions.
