Online Threat Alerts (OTA) - Alerting you to scams and frauds.
1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) is the legitimate, official customer service number for the United States Postal Service. However, scammers use a technique called caller ID spoofing to make this exact number show up on your phone screen when they call or text you.
If you did not initiate contact, any unexpected call or text appearing to come from this number is a fraudulent phishing attempt.
