The email message below: " Attention: View Return Status (IRS.gov)," is a phishing scam. The email message was not sent by the IRS and was designed to trick the recipients into clicking on a link within it, which will take them a fake Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website. On the fake website, the recipients will be asked to enter their personal and financial information.

If the recipients submit their information on the fake website, it will be sent to the scammers behind this email scam, who may use it to steal their identities or use it for other malicious purposes.
