Pranksters have resurrected another hoax or fake message that started back in 2013, which claims that Facebook will start charging its users £5.99 to keep their posts, message and photos private. And, if the users paste the message below on their Facebook Walls, they will not be charged. The hoax then further stated that if Facebook users do not pay the subscription fee, all their private information will be made public.
The Facebook Privacy Subscription Fee Hoax
"Now it's official! It has been published in the media. Facebook has just released the entry price: £5.99 to keep the subscription of your status to be set to "private". If you paste this message on your page, it will be offered free (I said paste not share) if not tomorrow, all your posts can become public. Even the messages that have been deleted or the photos not allowed. After all, it does not cost anything for a simple copy and paste."
Facebook has made it clear that it will never charge its users, therefore, Facebook will always be free. So, if Facebook users come across posts or messages claiming otherwise, they should not follow the instructions in them; they should just simply delete the messages or posts instead.
And, Facebook will be in hot water if they even attempt to make their users’ posts, images, messages or any other media public without the users’ permission or consent. They would be sued left, right and center by millions of users around the world. And, without users, there would be no Facebook. Facebook would be crippled because they wouldn’t be able to make money from online advertisements because there will no users to serve online advertisements to.
