Area Code 855 Scam Telephone Calls

For the past few months, I have received a few scam calls from 855 area code telephone numbers. Most of the scam calls were technical support and banking scams. The scammers' aims were to trick me into giving them remote access to my computer or trick me into calling a fake banking number where I will be asked for banking credentials and other sensitive information.

Here is a list of 855 area code telephone numbers that I have received calls from:

  • 1-855-473-9132
  • 1-855-203-6080

If you were tricked into giving remote access to your computer, please disconnect your computer from the internet and ask a tech-savvy person to scan your computer for malware or spyware. And, if you were tricked into calling a fake banking telephone number and have disclosed your banking information, report it to your bank.

    8556919132 is being used by the scammers.

    "We are getting calls almost daily from the 855- number asking if we purchased something for $400. We hang up but I wanted to notify you of this.

    Don't know what you do but is it wise for me to put that number on my "do not answer" automated list? Or just hang up?

    "I think the same people changed the last four.

    Told to call 855-764-8926 because 'information had been obtained using my name and social security number.'

    If I had time, I would call back and just let them talk and talk and talk before telling them I have reported them.
