International Parcel Service Scam - FIPS IPS016448296Ca

The International Parcel / FIPS Service text parcel notifications below are fakes. The fake messages, which claim the recipient's parcel has been stopped for unpaid customs fees, are scams created by cybercriminals to steal their potential victims' personal and financial information. Therefore, recipients of the same text messages are asked not to click the link in them.

The International Parcel Service Scam

"We tried to deliver your parcel IPS016448296CA, but there is an unpaid customs fee. Please follow the instructions here: 08o.me/Xw1OZ"

"There is an update on ur parcel. Item stopped due to unpaid customs fee. Follow the instructions here: https://bit.do/fLNJD"

I got another fake text from IEIPS-SMS: "016448296GB" and was taken to a fake IPS (International Parcel Service) website, which automatically entered the so called tracking number and then wanted my personal details and €1.50 for a customs fee. The link in the text is "j5l.website/Xljmb".

I keep receiving the same thing but it also involves "my Paypal" account (which I haven't placed any orders with in months) just for this same scammy bu115#1t. but the thing that gets me is paypal, the fake "mail" service and most of the entities that are mentioned in the e-mails and sms/txt messages, dont seem to care.. Ive contacted Paypal numerous times and they just brush it off as no biggie. They r probably a part of these scams because I never hear back and I see no information of them following through... makes me angry

    Received this message:

"HI there - Your order has been stopped at our shipping centre. Please follow instructions here: k09.me/WqEXM"

Clicking on the above led me to a separate page under "International Parcel Service" and a tracking code.

I received a text where they even mention my name!

It reads: "HI Xxxx - Your item has been held at our shipping centre. Please follow instructions here: r7p.me/WyUMI"

I'm not expecting any packages from abroad and would have ignored it completely, but it is scary that they have my name.

  • January 14, 2021 at 6:03 AM by an anonymous user from: Rochdale, England, United Kingdom

I received this today to my UK number, I opened the text as I am actually expecting something to be delivered from China. Call it spidey sense but it smelt like a phishing website so I looked it up online, thankfully I found this before commencing...

normally I'm pretty good with scam mails/texts, it just so happens I was expecting a delivery so got suckered in, I'm sure this will happen to others so wanted to add to these comments

I had this today, I would usually dismiss something like this but I am currently having a parcel delivered from abroad and I thought it may be legit. Luckily I found this page though. The message was from a UK mobile number.

    44 7541 935901

And read: HI there - Your parcel has been held at our shipping centre. Please follow instructions here: 2vc.me/WjgJn

The link took me to the following page: hxxps://trackingie.informationoverload.club/uk/...

Just had a text. Put in my address but got suspicious when it asked for card details. Will my accounts be ok

    • January 11, 2021 at 1:23 PM by info

You should be ok once you did not enter your credit card or other financial information.

  • January 5, 2021 at 3:18 AM by an anonymous user from: Greater London, England, United Kingdom

  • December 26, 2020 at 7:30 AM by an anonymous user from: Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain

Thank you for creating this page and letting everyone know this is a scam. I was waiting for a parcel when I got the text message so nearly paid the customs charge.

The SMS was from the number 20740 saying, 'Your item has been delayed. You can re-book your delivery slot here. Please update it now. 21h.me/7ondS'.

The URL took me to the IPS tracking page with the tracking number IPS082194730UK and asked me to pay a £1.50 customs charge.

    • January 26, 2021 at 9:53 AM by an anonymous user from: Hatfield, England, United Kingdom

I got the same text today 26/1/21 with the exact same tracking number! I’m expecting something from abroad as well so I was think it was real until I googled the tracking number and your response came up! Thanks :)

    • January 4, 2021 at 7:32 AM by an anonymous user from: Hatfield, England, United Kingdom

I am aslo waiting for a parcel and got this exact same tracking number and exact same custom charge asked for (£1.50) Text from 66573 said 'You have a pending delivery. Use your unique tracking code to track and receive your item.'

I clicked on delivery options. I had a choice of 'I want it delivered' or 'Collection Point'. When I clicked on collection point it took me to a page which said you item is already at the depot. BUT didn't say where the depot was. When I clicked on 'I want it delivered' it took me to a page wanting personal details and a 'be into win' Apple iphone. So suspected a scam and didn't fill in my details. It looked quite authentic up to that point. Be careful

  • December 18, 2020 at 1:47 PM by an anonymous user from: Downtown, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

  • December 17, 2020 at 3:57 PM by an anonymous user from: Auckland Central, Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand

Thanks for posting, my partner got the same message today, "win iPhone" gave it away, not hilarious but in a trolling way, a funny kinda warning

  • December 16, 2020 at 9:34 PM by an anonymous user from: Brisbane City, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

I got a text message saying:

There is a service update on ur delivery. Please check its status here: https://bit.do/fLVM4

Since I am expecting a few packages from overseas, I clicked on the link. It took me to a website for IPS that looks authentic. It asked me to put in my details and pay the $2 custom fee. Up to this point, I thought it was legitimate, but when I clicked next, it asked me for my shipping info but also said there was a chance to win an iPhone. This is when I realised this was a scam.
