Online Threat Alerts (OTA) - Alerting you to scams and frauds.
Domain Listings, LLC at domainlistings.directory is not a scam, but they sent deceptive invoices that resemble domain renewal notices. Although they state, "This is not a bill. This is a solicitation," the format could easily deceive an unwary recipient to think it is a domain renewal and send a payment of over $200. The invoice gives no explanation of the service the company actually provides ("enhance your Website exposure" is meaningless).
I have received at least three such invoices from this company. I almost paid the first one, thinking our domain had been transferred to a different registrar, but the misspellings and poor grammar tipped me off. The invoice's language, though clumsy, truthfully states the company is not a domain registrar, but again, the format is deceptive. It even includes a deadline for payment. Beware and read carefully. This invoice is not what it appears to be.
