Scamming - Fraud
I keep getting scam calls asking me to call 08001217365, where the callers claim to be Yorkshire Bank, VMoney and Barclays. They may claim to be from other companies. When I got the call that purported to be from Virgin, I called the number on the back of my Virgin card and they confirmed that this is not their number and that it was a scam. So, I am warning others to be aware of these calls and should not call 08001217365. It seems to be operated by scammers who want you to contact them so they can trick you into disclosing account credentials, personal and financial information.

Got a Virgin One ... thanks
08001214251 is a genuine Virgin money Fraud dept number (not main number). Confirmed via banking app and then called. They safely stopped payments attempted from my account for over £800
Got a text from "Virgin Money", saying "Good news - we've updated your mobile number to the new number you gave us. If you didn't make this change, call us on 0800 121 7365".Definitely a SCAM. How do BT continue to allow this number to operate?
They claimed to be from my bank (VM money was Yorkshre Bank) to ask me about potential fraud on my card.(£52 on Argos in Aberdeen)I was supicious when they got agressive when I didn't know my banking paswword and I said I would have to call them back.I called the fraud number I have in my phone (0800 121 4251) and they confirmed it wasn't them that called me before. The chap on the actual fraud line also said that the real bank won't ask for any part of or all your internet banking password EVER!
This is the number listed in the Virgin Money Mobile Banking App to call for customer services, so does appear to be actually a real phone number for Virgin.
They've spoofed the number to look like the correct one. I contacted my branch after their call and confirmed that it's a scam.
I received the same text today. Worryingly, the text included the last 4 digits of my account number. When I called Virgin Money using this number: 00 44 141 951 7315, the girl seemed to think that Virgin had sent the text as I'd authorised a couple of payments earlier in the day. She was unable to verify or too disinterested in the 0800 number on the text. I was not at all convinced.
