Scamming - Fraud
Beware of scammers posing as Canada Border Services Agency employees. Remember, CBSA will never call you asking for your SIN or credit card information. If you've received a call from the CBSA, this is a strong indicator of a scam. The CBSA does not contact the public directly. The Canada Border Services never requests payments, personal or financial information, such as Social Insurance Number (SIN) or credit card numbers.
The scammers call potential victims claiming a package was sent to them and Canada Border Services red-flagged it because it contained a suspicious substance. The scammers then claimed an arrest warrant had been issued in the potential victims' names and ask them to press one to speak to an agent."
If you have received a Canada Border Agency scam call, please share your experience in a comment below and include the telephone number the call came from. Also, to report a Canada Border Services scam call, contact Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

Call from 604-845-5922 claiming to be from CBSA and indicating a package was sent using my name containing illegal items and to be delivered by Canada Post. A warrant had been issued for my arrest and I could press '1' to speak to an agent. I hung up.
I received a call from 647-556-3312 claiming to be from CBSA and indicating a package was sent using my name containing illegal items. A warrant had been issued for my arrest and I could press '1' to speak to an agent. I kind of wished I pressed '1' instead of hanging up to hear what came next.
I received a call from a 289-253-9863 coming in from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Claimed I had a warrant out for my arrest due to package being held at the border. Scam!
