I bought the FLIXY TV Stick. It does NOT say Flixy on the box, so I have NO idea what product this really is and who makes it. It does not work as advertised, which was being able to access channels without a subscription. After 10 phone calls to their tech support and about a dozen emails, I requested a refund after wasting 3 days trying to get this to work, when there was never any possibility that it was going to offer free streaming. There is NO manual, NO instructions on how to set this up to get FREE streaming. Probably because there is NO such thing as FREE streaming.
Each time I called tech support they sent me another useless email with pathetic instructions that usually had nothing to do with their product, probably because they are sending out pieces of other products and claiming it as their own. They sent me multiple email instructions including videos for other streaming sticks like Amazons Fire stick. I wouldn't be surprised to learn they were buying Amazon's stick (and others) and reboxing it at 3 times the price. The last email they sent me was about how to get free streaming.
No Technical Support Help
Here's what they told me to do-- Download the free streaming services apps like TUBI, Pluto and Youtube. Great idea!! I could have done that with my Roku stick. So far Im out over $200 as I bought this stick for 3 TVs. Plus this HELPFUL information:
Access vs. Subscription: The TV Stick PROVIDES the interface to ACESS these apps on your big screen, but it does not include free lifetime memberships to paid subscription services.
That was the point of buying their product because it was advertised as FREE subscriptions. It looks NOTHING like the stick that is advertised. And it took me 3 days of playing around with their useless tech support to get to the truth. There is NO WAY to get FREE subscriptions. Just USE the FREE apps, I mentioned to get FREE streaming.
Conclusion
I've seen some other scams but this is really low. USING Amazons instruction videos and re-boxing Amazons fire stick at 3 times the price.
I'm going to report this TOTAL fraud to Amazon. They should at least be aware that some scammer company is re-boxing their fire stick and selling it at 3 times the price plus using Amazon videos for their tech support. I'll just add this to ALL the other ITEMS, I've been scammed on.
BTW- this company is out of Lithuania called COMMERCE CORE UAB. I don't know if they're responsible for this scam or if they have just been used in this scam like the rest of us. It looks like COMMERCE CORE UAB is some sort of electronics reseller so in this case they might be being used too.
