Feeding Our Future Scam and Fraud in Minnesota

The "Feeding Our Future" scam was a massive $250 million COVID-19 pandemic relief fraud scheme in Minnesota. At the center of the case was a Minnesota nonprofit called Feeding Our Future. Its founder and executive director, Aimee Bock, recruited individuals to open hundreds of fake child nutrition sites under federal aid programs.

How the Scam Worked

  • Fake Claims: Conspirators created shell companies and claimed they were serving thousands of meals daily to children in underserved communities.
  • Fabricated Rosters: Instead of actual food distribution, they falsified attendance rosters using random names (some pulled from random name generators) and invented children.
  • The Funds: The operation diverted millions of taxpayer dollars from federal child nutrition programs overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
  • Laundering and Kickbacks: The stolen money was laundered and used to purchase luxury homes, high-end vehicles, travel, and to pay kickbacks to Feeding Our Future employees.

Fallout and Legal Action

  • Indictments and Convictions: Federal authorities charged 78 individuals in connection with the sprawling scheme, which was labeled as the largest pandemic relief fraud case in the country. The vast majority of defendants have pleaded guilty or been convicted at trial.
  • Sentencing: In May 2026, the mastermind of the scheme, Aimee Bock, was sentenced to more than 41 years in federal prison and ordered to repay nearly $243 million. Numerous other site operators and co-conspirators have also received multi-year prison sentences.
  • Jury Tampering: The case made further headlines when several defendants attempted to bribe a juror with $120,000 in cash during a 2024 trial, leading to additional charges.
